Meet the FLAKE (Sheena B.) and the FOMO (Matt), behind the newest party game FLAKE or FOMO!

We’re two friends, opposites that compliment, like yin and yang but FLAKE and FOMO. Like most, we were constantly solicited with everyday commitments, whether it be something fun…like a pool party or not so fun… like helping a friend move. With every commitment came the realization that Sheena without a doubt would make an excuse and flake… and Matt would drop everything and show up because he’s the ultimate FOMO.

On the real though… this is how the idea for the game came about…

We have a friend Rachelle (pronounced like Rachel) who always wanted to be included and invited to everything we were doing but with each invite, she made every excuse not to show up.

For example, we invited her to come meet us for drinks and her excuse was, “I literally can’t… my in-laws are coming into town tomorrow, and I need to clean the litter box"… which we all know takes all of two minutes.

The excuses got more and more ridiculous to a point that we joked, “it’s as if she has a deck of excuse cards that she’s pulling from!” Regardless, we still love her, and she became our inspiration for the game!

With that said, we knew—for every FLAKE, there’s a FOMO. So we created the FOMO response cards because no matter the commitment, there are those of us who could be down!

No judgment here. Be a FLAKE. Be a FOMO. You be you.
